Presidents Report
We are two thirds of the way through the season & I’m happy to report the club is progressing well on all fronts.
On field our Auskick numbers are at an all time high & this is a credit to Geoff Winton & band of coaches as the Auskicker’s are our future. I encourage parents to spread the word about our programme & our club generally as we need to build this section of the club. I would also ask parents to feel free to contact me or Geoff with regard to any suggestions for improvement.
Due to a pretty full weekend of watching district, PSA & amateur football it’s not often I get to see our junior players unless they play at Lightning Park. I had the opportunity to catch up with five junior teams last weekend & was impressed by the development of our players & the behaviour of our parent groups & coaches/managers. It is obvious that with the solid base laid by previous Auskick coordinators & then the experience of an ex WAFL player in Geoff Winton, our players would be, across the board, further down the development track than all other clubs. The standard of coaching at the club at present is at a very high level & these junior teams will make their parents & the club proud.
Our seventeens are currently on top of the ladder & are working hard ensure they peak for the finals. Our fifteens, with a bit of luck, should already be knocking at the door of the five. Whilst there are some very talented sides in this cross competition on their day & with the right attitude this team can surprise you. Last years premiers, our fourteens, are travelling, in racing jargon, one out & one back & after getting used to a new coach & overcoming injuries are also peaking at the right time. The thirteens are the surprise packet of the youth section. With a combination of hard work & by ’ listening to the teacher’ they are also knocking on the door of the five & should be proud of their efforts.
Off field your committee is working as hard as ever. Only last week a delegation including the president, two coaches & the father of our constitution travelled to Melbourne to further our knowledge of the game at Amateur, VFL & AFL level.
Due to the generosity of our many sponsors & the diligence of Fiona Cunningham our levels of sponsorship are at an all time high which translates into savings for all members. Please take the time to look at our new sponsorship board in the main hall & where possible access our sponsors’ services. Our canteen continues to offer the best standard food & drinks anywhere in junior football & is a credit to Vicki & Mitch but they need your support if you are rostered to help in the canteen.
We have a very busy period coming up with the finals, flag/photo unveiling, social night & trophy presentations so please check our website above or (just Google ‘noranda hawks’)
Cheers to all,

Canteen Roster – Do Your Bit!
As you will be aware the canteen is major fund raiser for the club and its contribution helps to keep your fees one of the lowest in the district. The canteen is run by volunteers with a lot of committee help. We have had issues with parents rostered for canteen duties letting the team down. We ask if you are rostered to do canteen that you present 5 minutes before your game and be prepared to stay 10 minutes after your game which is usually the busiest times. If you cannot do your rostered day please negotiate with another parent to help out and swap days.
It has been rather disappointing that some parents are not prepared to do there bit or let their managers know they cannot attend on the day and the canteen is left to struggle. If the situation continues the committee may have to consider sanctions in the future or simply increase your fees to pay for staff.
